Keyframe is a NYC based investment firm focused on energy and its relationship with industry. We have invested ~$1.5B to date and are currently investing out of our brand new Keyframe III, closed in early 2026.
As physical and digital AI (and tech and regulatory change generally) disrupt incumbent industry, infrastructure and related energy services have growth opportunities if they can evolve to meet the demands of new operating models. Success generally requires companies to have a balance sheet set up to go on offense, as growth can be quite asset intensive. And this is precisely where Keyframe sits in the market, targeting $20-100m growth-oriented asset financing and restructuring investments that put companies in position to win.
The demands of the US energy ecosystem are growing… and so are we. This role, Finance & Ops AI Lead - Associate, is focused on making sure that Keyframe itself has the operating backbone needed to continue to grow. In this role, you will own the day-to-day management of Keyframe's growing investment platform and lead core, mission-critical processes for the fund.
We are seeking a dynamic, problem-solving generalist excited to play an active role in shaping processes in a fast-paced environment.
Why you will be successful…
You understand business operating basics (i.e. financial statements, accounting). Bonus for demonstrating knowledge of the business model, accounting needs, and operational considerations of an investment platform.
You are fluent with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, agent frameworks, workflow builders) and can point to specific workflows you've built that other people now rely on for an operational and/or financial tasks. You track the AI frontier closely and are constantly testing new tools.
Comfort using business management and accounting tools (QuickBooks, Expensify, Microsoft Office) and excitement about exploring which can be replaced, augmented, or rewired with AI workflows.
You have a strong attention to detail and are willing to get into the weeds.
People like collaborating with you.
You are an excellent listener. You comprehend complex concepts and ask questions when you need help
You are an excellent written and verbal communicator and understand how to get the information you need effectively and efficiently from others.
2-5 years of professional experience
How you will spend your day to day…
You will support the firm’s process management across operations, finance, accounting, valuation, investor relations (IR), document management, portfolio company monitoring, and technology + data.
Today, Keyframe has staff and 3rd party vendors executing all the above activities. As a first step – you will embed yourself in each of these processes to own key workstreams and ensure quality. As you do, you will work closely with Keyframe’s Partners to identify opportunities to architect agents, automations, and tooling that automate routine GP operational workflows end-to-end — moving work from manual to AI-assisted to fully agent-run wherever quality allows.
Maintain the fund's portfolio database with key information regarding each investment and serve as point person for position-specific questions (internally or externally). Build the AI-enabled reporting layer — selecting tools, wiring data flows, and producing the fund and management company performance reporting that goes to Partners and LPs.
These activities will involve coordination with a wide spectrum of individuals outside of the firm (i.e. coordination with C-Suite at Keyframe portfolio companies to collect information / documents) – you will meet a ton of people
On a monthly basis, you will report financial and non-financial metrics to the Keyframe Partners on all of the above, and be a part of the strategic discussion process about how to continue to build the firm, and interface with Keyframe’s LPs to share similar information. You will get tremendous exposure to what it takes to raise, invest, and operate an investment fund.
Keyframe has a flat organization. In this position, you will report to one of Keyframe's 3 investment partners and work collaboratively across the whole team. Keyframe has a partnership with another investment fund for many operational and infrastructure functions; you will work directly with this team for many of the activities listed above.
What it's like to work at Keyframe...
Dynamic and growing firm with a close-knit culture.
You will get to work with portfolio companies and management teams who are quite literally building the infrastructure that supports new technologies and the future of the economy
We embrace an entrepreneurial mentality – you will own mission critical processes and develop a track record of success. If you see something you think can be successful, we’re here to work with you to make it a reality. We will support you in growing your scope of responsibilities to advance your career prospects.
We surround you with the support and benefits needed to focus on being great. These include: best-in-class fully covered medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO policy, $5000 annual personal development budget, commuter benefits, in-office gym and showers, in-office meals, the full allowable retirement contribution (with no-match required), holiday parties, non-holiday parties, an endless supply of high end snacks, and we make it rain Keyframe team swag.
Salary range is $100-150k with target $25k bonus
Job is on site at Keyframe HQ in NYC
